FEMA Disaster and Emergency Response Training and Assistance

Disasters and Emergencies are now a way of life. They are going to happen. You have the opportunity to effectively prepare and respond to disasters and emergencies. Marci Lopez can serve your organization in one of five ways:

  • Provide FEMA training to a Public Agency so it can deal more effectively with FEMA in a Federal disaster (see Preparing for FEMA)
  • Provide emergency response training to any organization so that it can quickly restore its services and facilities ( see Disaster and Emergency Response)
  • Provide talks to any Public Agency association or conference concerning Preparing for FEMA ( see Conference Talks and Assistance )
  • Provide emergency response assistance to lifeline utilities, local governments, public agencies and businesses in restoring their essential operations and services following a disaster or emergency ( see Conference Talks and Assistance )
  • Provide emergency response training to any organization or public agency in Latin America. Marci Lopez is fluent in both English and Spanish. ( see Respuesta a Desastres en America Latina )

FEMA TRAINING
For State, County, and City Public Agencies, Marci Lopez can provide FEMA training so that the Public Agency will be better prepared for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) in a Federally declared disaster. The goal of the training is to show the Public Agency how to more quickly get all the money it deserves from FEMA. It has been my experience that most agencies leave money on the table and do not quickly get all their money from FEMA. The PREPARING FOR FEMA training not only shows the Public Agency how to get ready for FEMA before the disaster but what strategies to use to quickly maximize the FEMA reimbursement. Since certain Non-Profit and Native American organizations are also eligible for FEMA reimbursement, this class would also apply to them.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING
As far as I know, every responsible organization has an emergency response plan. Some are excellent and some not so effective. In addition to the safeguarding of personnel and facilities, the goal of an effective emergency response plan is to restore services and facilities as quickly as possible. The DISASTER AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE training allows any organization to quickly compare its own plan with many effective plans to see if there may be better ways of organizing or performing an effective response. Some of the topics include response organizational structures, employee activation, damage assessment, business continuity, standing orders for common emergencies, man-made emergencies as well as backup procedures and facilities for essential business functions. Research shows that many organizations cannot recover, if the restoration period following a disaster, is too long.
